Norazimah Abu Bakar
Norazimah Abu Bakar is born in Ipoh Malaysia in 1962. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication (Public Relations) from UiTM Shah Alam. She retired from Royal Malaysia Police College and started to involve in creative writing since early 90’s. Her poems have been published in numerous local newspapers and magazines. She has produced a total of 35 anthologies of poetry, and is the author of Melarik Malam (Poems), ITBM / PENA (2014), Langit, Bumi dan Lautan ITBM / PENA (2016).
In 2013, she attended the 33rd World Congress of Poets in Ipoh Malaysia, and her poem ‘The Yearning’ was published in the Anthology of The 33rd World Congress of Poets. Two of her poems were also translated to Tamil and published in Chennai, India. In 2016, she was awarded as Potential Poet by National Book Development Foundation and recently was awarded The Srikandi NUMERA Award 2017. Norazimah Abu Bakar currently acts as editor and coordinator for several publications to be published under GAPENA. She is also the writer and illustrator of children’s book’s including Mira Bersih, Kutu Lari (Gapeniaga, 2016), Buku uiPsi Nenda, Tomo Daichi (2017) and Kisah Anak Rusa, Tomo Daichi (2017).
